WHO WE ARE

Hero Scuba Group is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing SCUBA diving experiences and services for enthusiasts of all levels, with a focus on reducing or eliminating the side effects of PTSD, anxiety, trauma, and injuries suffered by Veterans and Emergency First Responders.

Our organization offers NAUI SCUBA diving training, group therapy, aquatic conservation outings, and sales of related products. Our unique connection is in our holistic approach, combining SCUBA diving, group therapy, and aquatic conservation outings.

We are a diverse group of individuals, including family members and non-affiliated members. Our organization is five years old and our non-profit organizational budget operates on donations and sponsors.

The very key to our strength is our community and the manta ray is a perfect adequation of strength and wisdom which Polynesian cultures believe. Our key challenges include reaching our target audience and increasing donations, which our website aims to address.

OUR SERVICES

At Hero Scuba Group, we offer SCUBA diving experiences and services tailored to reduce or eliminate the side effects of PTSD, anxiety, trauma, and injuries suffered by Veterans, Emergency First Responders, and their families.

Our services include teaching NAUI SCUBA diving training, group therapy, aquatic conservation outings, annual trips, and sales of related products. Our strength lies in our holistic approach, combining SCUBA diving, group therapy, and aquatic conservation outings to support Veterans and First-Responders.

We offer these services to Veterans, First responders, Alumni, and family members looking for a new way to relieve stress. Our organization aims to reach a specific number of candidates and increase donations for its cause, particularly in Texas.

We are excited to serve our community with these unique services that are designed to improve the quality of life of our applicants.

Finding solutions through the therapeutic benefits of SCUBA diving is our mission to help aid Veterans and First Responders.

PRESIDENT & CO-FOUNDER

BRANDON SEIBERT

Brandon medically retired from active duty in the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant and as a Medic. He is a NAUI Instructor Trainer and PADI Master Scuba Diver Instructor. Brandon has been utilizing SCUBA as a tool to treat his PTSD since 2008. Besides diving Brandon enjoys camping, hunting, fishing and traveling.

Vice President

MARSHAL KYZAR

Marshal is 10 year Army combat Veteran and a graduate of the Hero Scuba Group Class. He has found that diving helps minimize the symptoms of PTSD and chronic pain. When Marshal is not diving, he is in his Jeep on a trail in the woods with his trash bags doing his part to help keep the outdoors litter free for future generations. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Crystal, and two children, Alyssia and Greylin.

Treasurer

Terry Britt

While Terry has never served in any military position, he has spent the majority of his adult life supporting various veteran groups. Terry is retired after spending 40 plus years in the corporate tax and finance fields. Terry is a NAUI & PADI Divemaster. He has been diving throughout the Caribbean & Pacific for over 20 years. When not diving, Terry will share his passion for the Philadelphia Eagles & Phillies. He also spends his surface intervals spoiling his seven grand-children

Operations Manager

DAVID SHEPPARD

Dave Sheppard is an Army Combat Medic and Sergeant First Class Veteran. He served 20 years in the Army. Spanning those years he had five deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. During, his career he also spent three years as an instructor at the Combat Medic School House. Dave enjoys SCUBA and is a NAUI Divemaster. He also enjoys spending time with family, fly fishing, and traveling as much as possible.

SECRETARY

JOSH KUHN

Josh is an HSG Alumni and an Airforce combat veteran who served in multiple career fields from 97-09. After eight deployments and numerous temporary duty assignments across the globe, he was diagnosed with PTSD and anxiety. He spent eight years in therapy with his Veteran Affairs in Massachusetts. Although he loved the VA there, he felt he didn't gain much from their mental health department. He found a deep love of nature and a strong belief in nature conservation during his decade living in New England. Today, the only form of therapy, he needs involves SCUBA diving, camping, hiking, range time, and spending time with fellow veterans.

STAFF MEMBERS

Our Team are a wonderful collection of SCUBA enthusiasts and professionals who volunteer tirelessly to support Hero Scuba Group day in and day out. They represent an integral part of our organization.

They come from diverse backgrounds which also shines their colorful personalities. Our trust in them is what brings out the very best of our growing community. We lean on our dedicated special team to find creative solutions and make memorable relationships throughout San Antonio.

David "Chief" Solis

David is a 23 year AirForce Veteran. He has spent his career in IT as a National Guardsmen and a Reservist with the Special Operations Community. His love for diving was first discovered in Hawaii on a Discover Dive. From there he received his PADI open water certification in Texas 20 years ago. During, the Covid Pandemic his AirForce career led him into the rescue community, where he first glanced into the rescue diver's course. He later went onto pursue his Divemaster Certification. He has logged hundreds of dives professionally and leisurely. David's bucket list for diving is to dive every major ocean and his favorite place to dive is Belize! Outside of diving, David enjoys racing his motorcycle at track days and riding his motorcycles on the weekends in the hill country with his friends.
